Latoya Edwards

In collaboration with the foundation CEO, Latoya is responsible for development and execution of outreach strategy for the Caring Foundation of Texas and Can Van Programs. Latoya provides administrative and operational oversight of the foundation including the direction of programs, fundraising, budget management, marketing communications, volunteer recruitment, and staff management for the Caring Foundation of Texas.
Q: How long have you been on the Caring Foundation of Texas team?
A: I joined The Caring Foundation of Texas Team in May 2022.
Q: What’s your favorite children’s book and/or movie?
A: I loved the Arthur’s children’s book series when I was younger. More recently, I have developed a love for the Little Leaders and Mo Willems series. I have too many favorite children’s movies to count! What came to mind first, was the Little Mermaid.
Q: Tell us another fun fact about yourself!
A: I love spending time with our extended family usually cooking, watching sports (Hook ‘Em Horns!), movies, and traveling. I can often be found where live entertainment is happening. I have yet to find a concert, play, musical that I did not love.
Sheryl Smith
Care Van Program Coordinator
As our fleet expert, she is responsible for making sure that the operating partners have all they need to carry out their objectives. She is responsible for an array of organizational duties; accounts payable, fleet maintenance, outreach reports, custom clinic calendars for school districts and community centers, support contract nurses, and maintain website updates.
Q: How long have you been on the Caring Foundation of Texas team?
A: 15 years in October 2022!
Q: What’s your favorite children’s book and/or movie?
A: My favorite children’s movie would be Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory or Pocahontas.
Q: Tell us another fun fact about yourself!
A: I love to dance, sing karaoke and to travel.
Daniesha Frazier
Care Van Program Specialist
Serving as the Care Van Program Specialist, Daniesha Frazier is responsible for providing on-site support at clinic events as well as assist in the planning, organizing, and scheduling of all Care Van Program initiatives. Additionally, she will communicate with statewide and community organizations to increase awareness of the CFT services and gain important partnerships.
Q: How long have you been on the Caring Foundation of Texas team?
A: August 2023.
Q: What’s your favorite children’s book and/or movie?
A: “The Very Busy Spider” Finding Nemo and all the Toy Story movies

A: Love Caribbean music and food, enjoy exploring different cultures, love to travel
Leslie Watson
Sr. Foundation Development Coordinator
As Sr. Foundation Development Coordinator, Leslie is responsible for securing philanthropic support through fundraising, grant writing, cause-related initiatives, corporate sponsorships, and special events. She manages funding sources to meet the foundation’s operational needs and supports the Care Van Program. In addition, this position will support the development and growth of the Care Van outreach services.
Q: How long have you been on the Caring Foundation of Texas team?
A: Since June 2024.
Q: What’s your favorite children’s book and/or movie?
A: My favorite children’s book is Jack & Jill by Louisa May Alcott. I found it in a dusty corner of my local library and fell in love with it. I also love the Little House book series by Laura Ingalls Wilder. My favorite children’s movies are The Incredibles or Cars.
Q: Tell us another fun fact about yourself!
A: I love sports, especially football, baseball and hockey. I’m a big Arkansas Razorbacks due to my daughter. I also have a very competitive streak that comes through my participation in fantasy football leagues.
