Bringing smiles to Texas children

Although it is recommended that children go to a dentist every 8 months, many children go years or more without a visit which can result in tooth decay, gum disease, pain and missing permanent teeth. According to the CDC, Children who have poor oral health often miss more school and receive lower grades than children who don’t. Students with toothaches are almost 4 times more likely to have a low grade-point because they miss school or aren’t able to concentrate.

Care Vans teamed with several clinical dental partners to transport portable, free-standing dental equipment to provide free oral care – includes screenings, cleaning, and sealants. Our goal is to help reduce oral health issues among Texas children while maintaining overall mouth health. Since 2008, more than 260,000 children have been provided oral health services at no cost to families, because we believe every child deserves a healthy smile!
