Bringing Smiles to Texas Children

Many children go years without a visit to the dentist for routine care. This can result in tooth decay, gum disease, severe pain and missing permanent teeth. According to the CDC, children who have poor oral health often miss more school and receive lower grades. Children ages 5 to 19 from low-income families are twice as likely to have cavities compared with children from higher-income households.

The Care Van program partners with dentists and dental hygienists to provide free oral care, including screenings, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants.

Since 2008, over 450,000 children have received oral health services at no cost to families, because The Caring Foundation of Texas believes every child deserves a healthy smile.
