Last week, the Caring Foundation of Texas launched a new partnership with Amistad Community Health Clinic, a nonprofit health clinic serving the Coastal Bend area.
Together, we will provide the 14 colonias around Corpus Christi access to preventive healthcare services offered by the Care Van at no cost, such as A1C testing, glucose screenings, blood pressure checks, school-age immunizations and more. The van will also be used to help transport patients to essential healthcare appointments at the clinic.
“Since 1997, it has been our mission to remove barriers families often face in receiving preventive healthcare services,” said Sheena Payne, executive director of The Caring Foundation of Texas. “This important collaboration with Amistad Community Health Clinic will help reach more rural, underserved communities in our state.”
Our Care Van team traveled from San Antonio to Corpus Christi, Texas to deliver the van, which was filled with encouraging notes from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas employees.
